Background:
Okay... if you've done any research on mastering, you have no doubt read a ton of very technical sounding hoopla, hyped-offers, and "gear talk"!
In all fairness, mastering is very technical--not to mention how important it is to your finished recording if you are trying to get signed, get radio airplay, release a CD, etc.
But here is what I'd like you to consider:
Forget all that for now. Just let your ears be the judge here ... not your brain.
I am quite confident that your ears will tell you way more than all the "spec sheets" ever will!
If you need validation, I will say this much: I have been doing this for over 30 years. I have produced (not just engineered) over 50 commercial released albums/CDs ... and mastered literally hundreds of individual tracks.
